Dr. Weil's Breathing Technique

Dr. Weil’s breathing technique is REALLY helpful in stressful situations –I share it with all of my students and colleagues. Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound. Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four. Hold your breath for a count of seven. Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight.


Streaming Yoga Online

I am a runner at heart and yoga does not come easy to me.  I remember being so surprised at how DIFFICULT it is!  The stretching is so helpful and restorative yoga feels so good.  I also realized once I started doing it–why it is important to be, just you, in your body.


FitBit - Fitness Tracker

Invest in a fitness tracker and you will not be disappointed.  I love my Fitbit Surge as it tracks my runs with a gps–but I also believe there is something to be said for being held accountable.  Once I put on my Fitbit, I looked for opportunities to walk to increase my steps.  I purposely took the stairs and I “friended” my husband to keep abreast of his steps–so I could beat him!
