Hi, it's Nicole coming in from the NYU Motor Speech Lab with some lab updates. We have a really exciting month coming up, and I wanted to share with everyone.
This past weekend, we participated in the Apraxia Kids Walk in Staten Island. It was such a beautiful day, and it was really meaningful for us to connect with so many families, advocates, and therapists who are working to support children with childhood apraxia of speech. So kudos to the Apraxia Kids Foundation for such a wonderful event.
We are also really excited that ASHA season is coming up. We will be presenting, along with the Case Speech Lab and Dr. Julie Case, on treatment target selection, on Friday, November 21st at 8 a.m. We're really excited to share our framework for how we pick treatment words for the children who are participating in our labs and in our DTTC treatment research.
We are also excited about our very first Lunch and Learn, happening next week, October 29th at 12 p.m. It's via Zoom, it's for any and all clinicians, and it's free. Dr. Grigos and I will be hosting this first one together in a casual format: about 15 to 20 minutes of presentation, then we'll open it up for discussion. For this first one, we're planning to talk about our favorite cues and the dynamic cueing we use for both dynamic assessment and treatment. We really hope to see you there. I will be reposting the Zoom link, and you do need to register to participate.
And last but not least, we still have our two treatment studies going on in the lab: a two-day-a-week study and a four-day-a-week study. If you know anyone who is interested or who you think may be a good fit, please send them my way. You can give them my email: [email protected].
We really hope to see you all at ASHA and at our lunch. Have a great day.
